The current flag of
Kazakhstan was officially adopted in June of 1992. The design
features a blue flag with yellow embellishments on the hoist
side and a sun and eagle emblem centered on the flag. Light
blue is a symbol of the endless skies of the country and hope
for a peaceful future. The pattern along the hoist side is
considered “national ornamentation,” a concept similar to the
flag of Turkmenistan. Together the stylized sun and eagle
symbolize the Kazakh’s ideals, love of freedom, and serves as a
reminder of their proud past. |
