On flagpoles that are utilizing an 8 ft. x 12ft. flag arrangement or larger it is recommended that a shock spring with safety cable be used. the shock spring is constructed of zinc plated high carbon steel having an overall length of 5 1/2 in. with the coiled section measuring 4 in. . The 9 in. long safety cable is constructed of 1/8" stainless steel aircraft cable with a stainless steel thimble attached at each end with 2 copper crimps.
