Tennessee Flag History !

It is believed that the three stars in the Tennessee state flag represent the three different kinds of landforms – the Great Smoky Mountains and other mountains in the east, highlands in the middle,
and lowlands along the Mississippi River. They are known as east, middle and west Tennessee.
Throughout the state’s history these different sections have lived in different ways and sometimes have not worked together. The circle around the stars binds them together.
